Terms and conditions

Version 0.3 · draft · 14 October 2026

This is a translation of the Dutch terms. If the two differ, the Dutch text applies. Lees de voorwaarden in het Nederlands

1 · Who we are

1.1Time Travel Tours is a registered trade name of March & Spit v.o.f., Prof. R. Casimirstraat 68, 1068 SK Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce number 42100212, VAT number NL869724095B01.

1.2You can reach us at info@marchandspit.com and through timetraveltours.nl.

1.3The name Time Travel Tours and our logo are ours. Do not use them in a way that suggests you are Time Travel Tours or act on our behalf.

2 · When these terms apply

2.1These terms apply to everything we offer and sell: tours, codes and gift codes, wherever you walk the tour.

2.2You accept these terms when you buy a tour or a gift code; you tick a box for this at checkout. If you walk a tour with a code someone else gave you, they apply to you as well.

2.3If you are under 16, you buy a tour with the permission of a parent or guardian.

2.4Dutch law applies to these terms and to every purchase. If the law of the country where you live gives you more protection as a consumer, you keep that protection.

2.5If we cannot settle a dispute together, the court that has jurisdiction under the law decides.

3 · Offer, price and purchase

3.1You buy access to one Time Travel Tour: an audio tour with images, which you walk with the free March&Spit: Time Travel Tours app. You receive that access as a code, which you enter in the app.

3.2You buy a tour per party, not per person. With one purchase you walk the tour with whoever you like; see article 8.

3.3All prices are in euros, including VAT and without extra costs. You pay the price shown at checkout.

3.4The purchase is complete as soon as your payment has gone through. You then see the code on the confirmation screen, and we send it to the email address you entered at checkout.

3.5You walk a tour whenever you like: there is no date and no time slot.

4 · Payment

4.1You pay in advance, at checkout on timetraveltours.nl. Payments are handled by Mollie; the payment methods you can choose from are shown at checkout.

4.2Your receipt is in the confirmation email: the tour, the amount including VAT, the order number and the date. With a gift, you receive the receipt and the recipient receives the code.

4.3Paying by invoice is only possible for a business order, such as codes for a hotel, and only if we agree on it with you in writing beforehand.

5 · Withdrawal and refunds

5.1A purchase is final. You get no refund for a tour, code or gift code you have bought, except in the case of article 5.3.

5.2So you also get no refund if:

  • you bought the code but did not walk the tour;
  • you cannot or do not want to walk the tour because of something on your side, such as the weather, illness, crowds or your phone;
  • a stop or part of the tour is temporarily unreachable or not working, while you can still start the tour and walk part of it;
  • you received the code through a partner (article 9).

5.3Is there a technical fault on our side that means you cannot start the tour at all, for example because the app or our server is unreachable for everyone? Then email us at info@marchandspit.com. We will look into whether the fault was on our side.

5.4If we establish such a fault, you get the purchase price of that tour back, in the same way you paid. We do not compensate consequential loss, such as travel costs or a lost day.

6 · Codes: validity and use

6.1A code gives access to the tour you bought it for. The code does not expire: you can walk the tour as often as you like, for as long as it is in the app.

6.2If a code has an end date, for example with a promotion, it works until that date.

6.3You redeem a code once, on one phone. After that the tour is on that phone, and the code no longer works on another one. If your phone breaks or you reinstall the app, email us; we will see whether we can release the code again.

6.4A code is for your own use, with your party. You may not resell codes or share them publicly.

6.5Lost the email with your code? Request it again at timetraveltours.nl/code-kwijt.

7 · Gift codes

7.1You can buy a tour as a gift. The recipient gets the code by email, with your message if you wrote one and without the price; you get the receipt.

7.2A gift code is valid for two years from the date of purchase, up to and including the same date two years later. The date is in the email to the recipient. Otherwise it works like any other code (article 6): once redeemed in time, the tour stays on that phone.

7.3A gift code cannot be exchanged for money, and we do not refund it (article 5).

7.4Enter the recipient's address carefully. Once a gift code has been redeemed, also by someone else, we cannot replace it.

8 · Groups

8.1You buy a tour per party. Whoever has the tour can start a group in the app and then becomes the tour guide.

8.2The others only need the free app, not a code of their own. They choose "Walk along with a group", scan the tour guide’s QR code and hear Tim at the same moment, each on their own phone.

8.3Those who walk along have access for as long as the group runs. When the tour guide stops the group, or you leave it, that access ends.

8.4Would you like codes for a larger group or as a business, such as a hotel? Email us. What we agree on quantity, price and payment, we confirm in writing. Article 5 applies here too.

9 · Codes through a partner

9.1Sometimes you receive a code through a partner, for example from a hotel, as part of a package or through a promotion. If you paid for it, you made that purchase with the partner and not with us.

9.2Questions about that payment, and any refund, then go through the partner. We do not refund a code that came through a partner.

9.3These terms do apply when you walk the tour with such a code.

10 · Own risk and safety

10.1You walk a Time Travel Tour outside, in public space. You do so at your own risk.

10.2During the tour, look after your own safety and keep an eye on the traffic and your surroundings. Do not look at your screen while crossing, and keep the volume at a level where you can still hear the traffic.

10.3Always follow instructions from the police, road authorities and emergency services, and the signs on site. A route may be temporarily closed or changed.

10.4It is up to you to make sure you can manage the walk. Each tour states the length of the route and how accessible it is.

10.5We are not liable for damage or injury during or as a result of walking a tour, except in the case of intent or gross negligence on our side.

11 · Liability

11.1If we are liable, it is never for more than what you paid for the tour.

11.2We are not liable for:

  • failures at other parties, such as your network provider, your phone, GPS or an app store;
  • the consequences of a wrong email address or other incorrect details you entered yourself;
  • a stop or part of a tour that cannot be reached on site or temporarily does not work;
  • indirect damage, consequential loss and loss of profit.

11.3This article does not apply in the case of intent or gross negligence on our side, nor where the law does not allow it.

12 · AI images and AI voice

12.1We use AI in our tours. We bring existing historical prints and paintings to life with AI, sometimes create images with AI based on historical sources, and Tim's narrator voice was made with AI. Tim does not imitate a real person.

12.2Images edited or made with AI carry the label AI MODIFIED or AI GENERATED. Each tour states what was made with AI.

12.3An image made with AI is an interpretation, not historical evidence. We research the stories in archives, maps and books, and we keep what we know apart from what we imagine. Read how we work on How we make it.

12.4If you think a label is wrong, email us at info@marchandspit.com.

13 · Intellectual property

13.1The tours, with their texts, audio, images and design, and the name and logo of Time Travel Tours belong to March & Spit v.o.f. or to the makers and archives whose work we use.

13.2You buy the right to walk the tour yourself, with your party. Without our written permission you may not copy, record, edit, publish or use commercially anything from a tour, and you may not use the name or logo of Time Travel Tours.

14 · Privacy

14.1We handle your data with care and comply with the GDPR. What we keep, why and for how long is set out in our privacy policy.

15 · Complaints

15.1If something is not right, email us at info@marchandspit.com. Include your order number or your code, so we can find your order quickly.

15.2We reply within 14 working days.

15.3Report a complaint as soon as possible after you notice the problem. Within two months you are always in time.

15.4If we cannot resolve it together, you can go to court (article 2.5).

16 · Changes

16.1We may change these terms. The latest version is always at timetraveltours.nl/en/terms, with the version number and date at the top.

16.2Your purchase is governed by the terms that applied when you checked out; we record that version with your order.

16.3If we change something substantial, we let the people it affects know, where possible.
